An unfortunate incident occured in Tavy Close, Kennings Way. A young boy stabbed his mother 49 times, cut out her eyes and her heart, then put her in a cupboard and invited his friends round to see that he had done the job. His mother had been forcing him to have sex with her for a long time, the boy had confided in his peers. He soon found a girlfriend which angered his mother, she subsequently slapped the new girlfriend in the face which led to the boy executing his mother.
As a resident in Kennings Way I found it most bizarre that every time I saw this woman she was ALWAYS with her son, following him to the shop, and I mean everytime. I didn't think much of it because I notice how some parents keep their children tight and control their every move.
It's only now that I grieve for that poor boy who I had passed over a period of 7 years to know he did not trust to tell an adult what his mother was doing to him - did he think killing her in such a way was his only way out - where is society's real responsibility for the children? How could this woman bypass social workers and society to subjugate her child to fulfil her sexual fantasises? She was a child once, what happened to her and when does this defilement upon the child stop.
The papers will not publish this crime at the present due to the fear of a backlash, meaning, how many children will find solace in what this boy did because they are experiencing something similar? There could be a wave in this country, because, lets face it - all those children who come out onto the street and end up killing are filled with anger that was created in the home - if the word gets out that this boy put to rest that which destroyed him - how many other youths will do the same? And will street crime take on a new form...behind closed doors crime. |
